Here I introduce the 'New Moon Age' model of Astrodea that can display position of the sun and the moon.
New Moon Age model : Cal.4P85
New Moon Age model:CALIBRE 4P85 can display position of the sun and the moon, the age of the moon using two (large and small) dials(right photo).
This watch has accuracy than normal Moon phase watch intermittent working 29.5 day cycle.
If you set the age of the moon exactly first, then it keeps the age error under +-0.1 until next battery change (three years).
11 Moon phases are depicted in the '24h dial'. This '24h dial' goes into a 360-degree roll clockwise in 24h and shows position of the sun and the moon. And small 'Moon age dial' is located inside. This 'Moon age dial' rotates 360-degree in 29.52 days towards to '24h dial' and show the age of the moon. Many informations are drawed on the '24h dial', and you can peruse following celestial motions from it.

Moon age dialThe right photo is a 'Moon age dial' locates on the center of the watch. This dial goes into a 360-degree roll counterclockwise in 29.52 days vis-a-vis '24h dial'. And the triangular shape arrowhead on the dial points up present moon age. Dots and numerics drew around the dial means moon age. You can read The moon age 21.4 from right photo. |
transparent dialThe right photo is a 'transparent dial'. This dial was fixed, and show the altitude azimuth of The Sun and The Moon at latitude of 35 degrees north. Curved line of vertical direction means azimuth. Center vertical line (marked 'S') means south sky. And left 'SE' means southeast direction, 'E' means east, 'SW' means southwest, 'W' means west. Curved line of horizontal direction means altitude. Altitude and azimuth was parted every 15 degree. Five curved lines means 15, 30, 45, 60, 75 degree altitude. And the concave line drew lower harf of the dial means 'altitude -18 degree line'. You can know the time of astronomical twilight from this figure. |
Moon age / Moon phase / ebb and floodYou can know Moon age / Moon phase / ebb and flood from the triangular shape arrowhead on the 'Moon age dial'. Left photo show the 21.2 of Moon age, and signalling the Moon phase of old harf moon. Ebb and flood are perceived from moon age. New moon(age zero) and full moon(age 15) means spray tide. Quarter moon(age 7, age 22) means neap tide. |
